Background
The Choblet family have been producing wine in Muscadet since 1944 and are consistently rated as one of the Appellation's best producers. Their Gamay grapes come from 30 year old vines on red sand and gravel, small rolled quartz pebbles quartz on a subsoil of schist and amphibolite.
Tasting notes
Fresh and vibrant aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry with a hint of spice. Good finish with a refreshing acidty.
Winemaking
After destemming, maceration for 4 days on the pomace. Malolactic fermentation in tank. Every step is orientated to gaining maximum fruit expression.
Food pairings
When slightly chilled it goes very well with fish! But also charcuterie boards, chicken and spicy dishes.
